Precautions Pertaining to Coffee Canisters
Coffee canisters will keep your coffee sealed tight for freshness. It also helps to lock the aroma in so when you brew it there is no stale smell. When you purchase your fresh beans and grind them it is important to retain the flavor. If you leave the beans sitting in the bag the flavor is not locked in because air will get in the bag. The air is what makes the coffee go stale and there is nothing like trying to sip a stale cup of coffee!
Look at the canisters in which you already have your sugar, flour, etc stored in. You will want any coffee canisters you purchase to blend in with the ones you already own. Once you locate the perfect canister make sure it does a couple of different things. Make sure it will keep any kind of moisture out. There is nothing like wet grinds sitting in the canister due to the entry of moisture. Check and make sure when the lid is put on the canister that it is air tight. If the lid moves around at all then it is not what you are looking for. The best kinds of lids are the ones that have a type of rubber around the lip. When the lid is sat down on the container this rubber will keep the air out. The lids with locking buckles on them really seal the canister right up. You want a lid that will keep all air away from your fresh coffee grinds.
When trying to decide where to set your coffee canisters make sure it is in a cool spot. You do not want to sit the canister near any heat because the beans tend to lose their flavor quicker. Keep your lovely canister out of the light, this means do not sit the container on a window. The best coffee is fresh coffee that is stored at a cooler temperature and away from any elements.
The whole purpose of drinking coffee is because you enjoy the taste. In order to maintain the fresh taste that your taste buds love invest in the proper storage canister. There is nothing more disappointing then drinking stale coffee or having the grinds ruined because moisture dived in! Now that your mouth is watering just thinking about the coffee brew yourself a fresh cup. Hopefully it was stored in the proper container and is still fresh!
